Henry Gong

Henry Gong was until recently Co-Chairman of THL China Capital Holdings Limited, the China joint venture of Thomas H. Lee Partners L.P. which, founded in 1974, is one of the oldest and most experienced private equity firms. Henry is a veteran private equity investor with a focus on China related businesses, both domestically and globally. He also serves as a Venture Partner of Infinity Equity, a leading Israeli-Chinese equity fund. He was previously the inaugural president of Hong Kong Stock Exchange listed CITIC 21CN Corporation (now renamed “Alibaba Health”). Prior to that he was a senior investment banker with Goldman Sachs and a key member of the firm’s early China team, being the lead banker in completing the firm’s first IPO from China and playing a pivotal role in winning the firm’s early landmark mandates from China. Henry graduated with distinction from the Foreign Affairs University in Beijing with an LLB, received MA and MPhil in International Relations/Political Science from Yale, and a MBA in Finance from NYU Stern School.
